Training: Time is precious. You want to get the most from every moment that you spend with your horse. When you bring your horse to us for training they get the undivided attention of a professional trainer five times every week plus daily handling at chore time. Whether your goal is to compete or enjoy your horse for pleasure, to work a team on your farm or go for a trail ride, we can help you move toward your goals. Too much bang in your horses' buck? We can help by gettin him/her relaxed, moving forward and straight on trail, in the ring under saddle or in harness. Our covered round pen allows us to work in most weather. Miles of trails accessible from our dooryard give us a variety of conditions and terrain to choose from. Our methods are clear, kind and firm and are rooted in a deep understanding of horses' psychology and physiology. We take great pride in allowing horses to be horses while helping them to become willing, engaged, effective partners with their people. We use many natural horsemanship methods to follow the pattern of classical dressage training: begin by developing relaxation, suppleness and straightness. Once these are achieved real teaching and training begins. We believe strongly that mental and physical relaxation go hand in hand, one can not be accomplished without the other. While your horse is at the farm we encourage you to visit to watch and participate in your horses' training progress. If you are unable to do this due to time or distance restraints we will keep you posted on your horses' progress on a regular basis. We offer a variety of pastures and paddocks to meet each horses' turnout requirements. The barn has a mix of box stalls and tie stalls to meet each horses needs. Horses have grass and free choice hay & water, grain as needed. All-inclusive training rates are $850 per month for horses being started under saddle, $950 for horses being worked in harness. Don't need a full month? Bring your horse for a shorter period of time. Call for rates and details. |
